The CIHC outreach team will be in attendance at the California Truth & Healing Council first in-person Quarterly Meeting of 2023. Information will be available at the Friday, 2/17 event being held at California State University in Fresno, Table Mountain Reading Room in the Fresno State Library. On Saturday, 2/18 a presentation about the status of the project will be shared and input gathered from 10:30-11:30. Saturday's event will be held at Chukchansi Gold Casino Resort.

Image of "Weaving," a video art of master basketweaver Lois Conner, a member of the local North Fork Mono and Chukchansi Yokuts tribe, looms over the Peace Garden at Fresno State, projected onto a 43-foot-high media screen on the north side of the Henry Madden Library. With nimble hands, Conner demonstrates the dedication, patience and time it takes to weave a traditional gambling basket, a process that typically takes about a year to complete. On the screen, Conner’s weaving takes a full academic year. A gift from gift from Table Mountain Rancheria helped fund the expansion of the library. Image source: Fresno State News Archive
